After two not very successful days, at least ice wise, we went back to Free Standing and Cascade Julien. At least we did knew now, how to get there. In the guide they said only to cross the river to the other side and head up the snow slope. Only, the river runs sometimes deep through a gorge. Heading up towards the Hotel du Cirque at the second sharp left curve, a trail lead towards the river and then heading south. A natural bridge lead across the gorge, but we didn't dare to cross it. A little further up, we found a way to cross the river safely.
