Ruogig or Ruegig depends on the dialect, is a beautiful area inmidst of the canton Uri. Some of the routes are found in the Plaisir Ost, but many more are now to be discovered, since the new climbing guide Kletterrouten im Schächental is out. Even as we speak, new routes are created.
To get there, you have to take the aeriel passenger line Brügg-Eierschwand-Ruogig (Tel. 041 870 58 08). From the top station you hike direction Eggbergen. You will pass several climbing areas.
The rock is of excellent quality, sharp limestone. And the scenery is just breathtaking. The protection varies. Some of the routes, you need to add your own protection, others not. Some of the routes are now reboltet, like Potentilla.
