Description
Biel, not the one at the Lake Biel, is a beautiful area inmidst of the canton Uri. Some of the routes are found in the Plaisir Ost, but many more are now to be discovered, since the new climbing guide Kletterrouten im Schächental is out.
To get there, you have to take the aeriel passenger line Brügg-Biel-Kinzig (Tel. 041 870 26 35). That's the one, right at the main road. From the mountain station you hike up along the ski lift. Höch Nossen is in front of you.
The rock is of excellent quality, sharp limestone. And the scenery is just breathtaking. The protection varies. Some of the routes, you need to add your own protection, others not. Some of the routes are now reboltet.
